The fact is: new electric cars due out in 2019 and beyond are announcing ranges of 120 to 250+ miles ( 193 to 402 km).
So, for the vast majority of driving trips in a given year, a full charge at the beginning of the trip will easily get you to your destination.
Finally, for that very occasional long distance trip, just a little planning will be sufficient. There are many more fast charging stations available today spaced along major freeways and highways than even just a few years ago — and thousands more built every year.
For example, with the current stock of EVs in the US, there are then actually 14 times more charging stations per EV than available gas pumps per gasoline / petrol-powered autos.
